Photography students of NSCC concentrating on Yarmouth for next photo book

A group of photography students from the Halifax NSCC have selected Yarmouth as their upcoming location in their “This day in . . .” task. The students are a part of a photography program of Nova Scotia Community College, were coming to Yarmouth on 7th April, Tuesday, to scout locations as well as to hand out flyers.

Well, the flyers said that on 16th April, 2015, forty students of Nova Scotia Community College Photography Program would come to the Yarmouth to document the community for just 1 day. The students would each be assigned a person, a business or club in the region and make photographs depicting the events or activities in what might be a typical day in their lives.

Erin McGuire, their instructor, a native of Yarmouth, told that the photography students would start shooting in the early morning and would carry on all day as well as into the evening. He added that they would start at their primary assigned location and after that branch out into the community to continue to photograph people and places. Following the shoot – in the coming weeks – the students would compile the snaps into a hard-covered book that would be offered to the town.

Well, the books are also available for purchase. Already , the students have finished the project and made books.
